The mobilizations have gone forth without further setbacks in the past few days. Yesterday they came out of the Pedagógica University moving through the luxurious residential areas of the coup leaders, marking their walls with messages of condemnation. For a moment things became tense when the riot police came to prevent the march from reaching the houses of [Cardinal] Rodriguez Maradiaga and [former president] Flores Facussé, who are neighbors, but nothing happened because the people made a turn and headed to the central park, making a brief stop at El Heraldo, changing its slogan to "The truth is up your ass."

Today the march began at the road out of Danlí, at the Villas del Sol commercial center, some three hundred meters from a contingent of five hundred soldiers that awaited orders to dissolve them, an order that never came despite the government's warning that it would not tolerate the marches or the blockades for even one more day. The march ended at the UNAH parking lot, in recognition of what is now seen as a student victory over the dictatorship. It appears that after the political cost to the government of the repression of students at the National Autonomous University they are keeping a certain distance to avoid further risks.

The attorney general's office has promised that it will file charges against the students who led last Wednesday's street occupation, assuring that they are "foreign mercenaries" who have infiltrated Hondurans to create chaos, because clearly for them it's not conceivable that this nation could be resisting so strongly if not for the infiltration of foreign mercenaries.

At the political level several high-level and ongoing meetings are taking place. Yesterday it was confirmed to me that ex-ambassador Crescencio Arcos was in Honduras (far from the media), and had arrived to meet in secret with the millionaire architects of the coup. His presence in the country is no coincidence, it demonstrates that the dark sectors of the country still maintain strong ties with personalities like Negroponte, who seems to be Otto Reich's boss. It is still difficult to unravel the plotting of the coup, but there is no doubt that it extends beyond the gardens of the bourgeois residential districts of Tegucigalpa. What is important to note is a certain change in the business leadership of the country, which is beginning to speak of the necessity to seek a quick way out of the crisis and have now begin to blame the Armed Forces for having acted improperly in the case of Mel Zelaya. We wanted them to prevent socialism, said Adolfo Facusse, but it was a mistake to take him out in that way.

The government of Micheletti seeks new strategies to demobilize the resistance. Yesterday a proclamation was issued from the Secretary of Health, announcing the cancellation of public school classes given the danger of contagion of AH1N1, and recommending to the population that they abstain from participating in any activity involving crowds. Weeks before the coup the media announced an unprecedented influenza epidemic in the country that would cause many deaths if people were not careful about attending rallies or marches, but it didn't work; people kept going to them and I am sure that they will continue marching now, too.

The great pilgrimage is coming from different parts of the country, and advancing toward the principal cities. They will arrive on Tuesday and will unite in a huge march to show that the resistance will not surrender. The press, in an editing slip, said that the march was for peace and democracy, and they're right, the concepts are the same but with entirely different meanings.

Las movilizaciones se han venido dando sin mayores contratiempos en los últimos días. Ayer salieron de la pedagógica avanzando por las lujosas residenciales donde viven los golpistas, marcando sus muros con consignas y mensajes de repudio. Por un momento la tensión llegó cuando los antimotines se hicieron presentes para impedir que la marcha llegara hasta la casa de Rodriguez Maradiaga y Flores Facussé, que son vecinos, pero nada pasó, porque la gente dio media vuelta y siguió hasta el parque central, antes haciendo una rápida visita a El Heraldo, cambiando su eslogan a “la verdad en su culo”.

Hoy la marcha inició en la salida a Danlí, a alturas del centro comercial Villas del Sol, a unos trescientos metros de un contingente de quinientos soldados que esperaba la orden superior para disolverlos, orden que nunca llegó, a pesar de la advertencia del gobierno de no tolerar las marchas y tomas ni un día más. La caminata terminó en el parqueo de la UNAH, como un reconocimiento a lo que ahora se conoce como la victoria estudiantil contra la dictadura. Da la impresión que luego del costo político que trajo para el gobierno la represión a los estudiantes de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma están tomando cierta distancia para no correr más riesgos.

La fiscalía ha prometido que procederá en contra de los estudiantes que protagonizaron la toma del miércoles pasado, asegurando que son “mercenarios extranjeros” que se infiltran entre los hondureños para crear el caos, porque claro, para ellos no es concebible ver como este pueblo puede estar resistiendo tanto si no es con infiltración de mercenarios.

A nivel político varias reuniones de alto nivel están ocurriendo de forma permanente. Ayer me confirmaban la presencia (alejada de los medios) del Ex embajador Crescencio Arcos que llegó a Honduras para reunirse en secreto con los millonarios propulsores del golpe. Su presencia en el país no es casual, muestra los vínculos que los sectores oscuros del país aun mantienen con personalidades como Negroponte, quien parece ser el jefe de Otto Reich. Hasta donde llega la trama de este Golpe de Estado, difícil saberlo aun, pero definitivamente pasa más allá de los jardines de las residencias burguesas de Tegucigalpa. Lo importante es ver cierto cambio en la cúpula empresarial del país que está comenzando a hablar de la necesidad de buscar una salida pronta a la crisis y culpan ahora a las Fuerzas Armadas por haber actuado mal en el caso de Mel Zelaya. Queríamos que detuvieran el socialismo, dijo Adolfo Facusse, pero fue un error que lo sacaran de esa forma.

El gobierno de Micheletti busca nuevas estrategias para desmovilizar la resistencia. Ayer salió el comunicado de la Secretaria de Salud anunciando la cancelación de las clases del sistema de educación pública dado el peligro de contagio de la gripe AH1N1 y recomienza a toda la población para que se abstenga de participar en actividad que conlleve aglomeración de gente. Anteriormente se usó la epidemia de la influenza para desmovilizar las manifestaciones sociales. Semanas antes del golpe los medios de comunicación anunciaban una epidemia sin precedentes dentro del país que causaría muchos muertos si la gente no se cuidaba de asistir a mítines o marchas, pero no funcionó, la gente siguió asistiendo y estoy seguro seguirá marchando en esta ocasión.

La gran peregrinación viene desde los distintos puntos del país avanzando hacia las ciudades principales. Llegarán el martes y se unirán en una gran marcha mostrando que la resistencia no se rinde. La prensa, en algún desliz de redacción dijo que la marcha era a favor de la paz y la democracia, y tienen razón, los conceptos son los mismos pero con significados completamente diferentes.
