This is the first big radio spot (done with Radio Progreso) for the "Todas las voces" ("All voices") concert to be held on October 21st in San Pedro Sula, site of the brutal September 15th Independence Day attack by Pepe Lobo's state security forces who deployed teargas, clubs and water cannons on a large all-ages crowd that had gathered to hear Café Guancasco play. Lobo's military and police destroyed all the band's instruments and equipment and 30,000 U.S. dollars worth of rental sound equipment, in addition to fracturing the skull of one of the members because he was wearing a Bob Marley t-shirt, and killing a vendor. On October 21st, newly christened by the people "Day of the Artist in Resistance" (formerly Armed Forces Day), the largest concert in Honduras's history will reject the violence of the continuing de facto State. Our song is nothing more than a shout of hope for millions of people trying to free their nation, and if this bothers him, he will have to get used to living with the contempt of the people, which we will once again turn into song.
